The quick answer

"AI" on a stock tool can mean three very different things. It can be a chatbot that explains a chart. It can be a model that ranks stocks once a day. Or it can be a system that tests strategies and sends live, dated signals. Before you compare prices, figure out which of those you want.

Trader tip

Our pick for live trading is Trade Ideas Holly AI, because its signals are dated, come with a stop, and come only from strategies that passed testing. It is ours, so weigh that. For chart Q&A on a budget, ChartingLens is hard to beat on price. For news-driven AI research, Benzinga AI.

1. Trade Ideas (Holly AI)

Trader tip

Holly tests strategies every night and lets only the ones that pass send signals the next day, each with a time, an entry and a suggested stop. The AI Assistant, in every plan, turns plain English into scans. Holly AI Signals are on TI Premium. TI Standard is $127 a month, or $1,068 a year (about $89 a month). TI Premium is $254 a month, or $2,136 a year (about $178 a month). Read Holly AI Signals and What Is Trade Ideas.

2. TrendSpider Sidekick

TrendSpider includes 25 Sidekick AI messages a month on every plan, with paid Sidekick tiers from $49 to $349 a month for more messages, per its pricing page. It sits inside a chart-automation tool with backtesting and a Quant Model Lab. See Trade Ideas vs TrendSpider.

3. Benzinga AI

Key point

Benzinga lists its AI as part of the Essential plan at $197 a month ($1,997 a year), alongside its real-time scanner and news feed. Good if your edge is news. See Trade Ideas vs Benzinga Pro.

4. ChartingLens

A charting app with an AI assistant, 25 daily AI signals and a 0-100 CL Score. Free, $14.99 and $29.99 plans, with AI use metered by daily credits below Pro. See Trade Ideas vs ChartingLens.

5. TradingView

Key point

TradingView lists AI screener requests on its paid plans, from 100 on Essential to 500 on Ultimate, plus auto chart patterns and candlestick pattern recognition. It is a charting tool with AI helpers more than an AI tool. See Trade Ideas vs TradingView.

6. Tickeron

Tickeron sells AI pattern and trend prediction tools across stocks, ETFs, forex and crypto, priced per tool. We could not load a current pricing page on Oct 12, 2026, so we left its prices out. See Trade Ideas vs Tickeron.

How we picked these six

We looked at tools that put AI to work on stock selection or analysis and that publish their prices and features on their own site. We left out tools whose pricing page would not load or that did not describe what the AI does. For each one we asked four things: what the AI actually outputs, whether you can check its record, what it costs, and who it fits. We make Trade Ideas, so it is on the list and we say so plainly.

Best by trading style

  • Day trading: Trade Ideas Holly AI Signals fire live with stops; Benzinga AI if news drives your trades.
  • Swing trading: ChartingLens daily picks or TrendSpider's Sidekick on charts you already follow; Holly signals can be held longer too.
  • Learning: the AI Assistant in every Trade Ideas plan shows you which filters make up a scan, which teaches you fast.
  • Testing ideas: OddsMaker for market-wide scans; TrendSpider for chart strategies.

What AI cannot do for you

No AI tool removes risk. Models are built on past data, and markets change. The useful tools are honest about that: they date their signals, give a stop, and let you check the record. Treat any AI output as a starting point. Size your positions so a loss does not hurt, and practice in a simulated account before you trade real money.

How to judge an AI stock tool

  • Does it date its signals so you can check them later?
  • Does every idea come with a stop, not just an entry?
  • Can you test the idea yourself, like with OddsMaker?
  • Does it scan the whole market, or a fixed list?
  • Is AI use metered, and what happens when you run out?

A closer look at Holly AI

Holly gets the most space here because it is the tool we know best, and because people misdescribe it more than the others. Here is how it actually works, start to finish.

Settings

After each market close, Holly runs a large set of strategies against recent data. Each strategy is a rule set: what kind of stock, what event, what time of day, where the stop goes, where the target sits. Strategies that held up well enough in that testing are switched on for the next session. The rest sit out.

During the next session, when a stock meets the rules of an active strategy, Holly sends a signal. You see the symbol, the time, which strategy fired, and the entry and a suggested stop. Because every signal carries a time stamp, you can go back later and see what the stock did after. Nothing gets rewritten after the fact.

You do not have to follow any of it. Some traders use Holly as a short list and then apply their own judgment. Others paper trade the signals for a few weeks first. A few connect them to Money Machine with their own position sizing. Holly AI Signals are part of TI Premium; the AI Assistant, which builds scans from plain English, is in every plan.

A closer look at the others

TrendSpider Sidekick. Sidekick lives inside TrendSpider's charting and lets you ask questions about what you are looking at. TrendSpider's pricing page lists model choices by Sidekick tier, from a free allowance of 25 messages a month up to a $349 Max tier. If you already chart in TrendSpider, it is a natural add. If you do not, you are buying a chart tool to get the AI.

Benzinga AI. Benzinga's pitch is speed on news. The AI sits on top of that feed and its research tools, and Benzinga says it is exclusive to the Essential plan. The fit is a trader who reacts to headlines and wants help sorting them.

Key point

ChartingLens. The cheapest way on this list to talk to an AI about a chart. Credits are the thing to plan around: one a day on the free plan and 20 on Premium, per its pricing page. The 25 daily picks come from a universe of about 2,000 stocks, not the whole market.

TradingView. The AI here is a helper for its screener, with a set number of AI screener requests per plan. Most people pick TradingView for its charts and community; the AI is a bonus.

Tickeron. Tickeron has been in AI pattern prediction for years and covers more asset classes than most. Its pricing page returned an error when we checked, so look at its current offer on its own site.

Setting up an AI workflow in Trade Ideas

Idea Surfing cycling through charts.
Idea Surfing cycling through charts.
  1. Open the AI Assistant and describe what you trade, for example small caps under $20 gapping up on news.
  2. Look at the window it builds. Note the alerts and filters it picked, like Gap (%) and Float, and adjust them.
  3. If you have TI Premium, open the Holly AI Signals window next to it and watch which strategies fire on the kinds of stocks you like.
  4. Run your own scan through OddsMaker to compare its history with what Holly is doing.
  5. Paper trade both for two weeks in the simulated account. Keep notes on which signals you would have taken and why.
  6. Only then decide whether to trade them live, by hand or through Money Machine.

Mistakes people make with AI stock tools

  • Treating a confidence score as a probability of profit. A score ranks ideas against each other. It does not tell you how much you will make or lose.
  • Ignoring the stop. If a tool gives a stop and you move it, you are no longer trading the tool's idea.
  • Chasing old picks. A daily pick posted before the open can look very different by 11 a.m. Check the price before acting.
  • Paying for AI you do not use. If you only want chart Q&A, do not buy a premium signal plan, and the other way around.
  • Skipping the paper-trading step. Two weeks of simulated trading costs nothing and tells you more than any review.

What it costs over a year

On the list prices we read: ChartingLens Premium runs $149 a year. Benzinga Essential is $1,997 a year. Trade Ideas TI Standard is $1,068 a year and TI Premium, which carries Holly AI Signals, is $2,136 a year. TrendSpider and TradingView vary by plan and by whatever promotion is running, so check the day you buy.

Key point

A useful way to think about cost: divide the yearly price by the number of trading days, about 250. TI Premium works out to roughly $8.50 a trading day. Whether that is a lot depends on your account size and how often you trade.

Who should skip each one

  • Skip Trade Ideas if you trade crypto or forex, or if you only check the market on weekends. It covers US stocks and is built for people watching during market hours.
  • Skip TrendSpider Sidekick if you do not want a charting subscription; the AI comes inside it.
  • Skip Benzinga AI if news is not part of how you pick trades. Essential is a big jump from Basic.
  • Skip ChartingLens if you need alerts the instant something happens across the whole market, or more AI questions than your plan's daily credits allow.
  • Skip TradingView's AI as a reason to buy; buy TradingView for the charts.
  • Skip Tickeron until you can see current pricing on its site.

Questions to ask before you pay for AI

  1. What exactly does the AI hand me: a chat answer, a ranked list, or a trade with levels?
  2. When does it hand it to me: on request, once a day, or the moment conditions are met?
  3. Can I see what it said last month, with dates, and compare that to what happened?
  4. Which stocks does it look at? All US stocks, a fixed universe, or only my watchlist?
  5. What happens on a busy day? Is there a credit or message cap?
  6. Can I test the idea myself before trading it?
  7. Is the AI part of the base price or an add-on?

Write the answers down for each tool you are considering. The differences tend to jump out once they are side by side.

How AI and scanning work together

Key point

AI tools are best at narrowing. Scanners are best at watching. The strongest setups we see from users combine the two: a scanner keeps an eye on the whole market for an event, and an AI layer, whether Holly or something else, ranks or filters what comes through.

In Trade Ideas that looks like an alert window for High Relative Volume on stocks with a float under 50 million, running next to the Holly AI Signals window. When the same name shows up in both, it gets a closer look. Some users add the unusual options volume scanner as a third check.

None of this is magic. It is a way to spend your attention on fewer, better candidates. You still decide, and you still use a stop.

A note on track records

Several AI tools say they publish results. Before you lean on any record, check three things. First, whether every signal is included or only highlights. Second, whether each result is tied to a date and time you can verify against a chart. Third, whether the record includes the stop being hit, not just the wins. Holly AI Signals are time stamped for exactly this reason, so you can line any signal up against the chart yourself.
