Trade Ideas Alternatives: What You Give Up With Each One
Named to the Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies six years in a row (2017–2022).
Investopedia: Best Short Term Stock Screener, 2024
The short answer: most Trade Ideas alternatives replace one piece of Trade Ideas, not the whole thing. Scanz and Day Trade Dash replace the real-time scanner. Finviz Elite and TradingView replace the screener and charts. TrendSpider and Tickeron offer their own kinds of AI and testing. Benzinga Pro is news; Unusual Whales is options flow. Below, each one is grouped by the job it does, with what you keep and what you give up compared with Streaming Alerts, the Top List, Holly, OddsMaker, Money Machine and the unusual options channel.
Trade Ideas publishes this page.
The pieces you would be replacing
- Streaming Alerts, the scanner: can fire on every trade, multiple times per second.
- The Top List, the screener: a ranked list of who meets your filters right now, updated every 15 seconds.
- Holly, the AI. Holly AI Signals fire during the trading day with a symbol, an entry, stop and target. Holly is designed to look for stocks with large long-term potential. Many signals won't work out. You choose whether to exit the same day or hold, based on your risk.
- OddsMaker, the backtester: replays real past events across all stocks and reports trades, win rate and profit factor.
- Money Machine, the automation: trades from your own scans with a volatility-based stop for each stock.
- The unusual options channel. Trade Ideas also monitors unusual options activity across all stocks, and its dedicated channel runs in TI Pro and the Web Dashboard alike.
TI Standard (Core) is $127/mo (about $89/mo billed annually) with real-time scanning and screening. Holly AI Assistant is included in TI Pro on every Trade Ideas plan. TI Premium (Apex) is $254/mo (about $178/mo annually) and adds Holly, OddsMaker and Auto Trading.
Keeping it all in one place has its own appeal. On TI Premium you get Holly's daily trade signals, entry, stop and target included, together with OddsMaker for testing. The AI Assistant builds scans from plain English, the no-code menu covers 310 alerts and 249 filters, and the Formula Editor lets you add filters of your own and test them.

Finviz Elite

You keep: AI predictions across asset classes. You give up: live intraday signals with an entry, a stop and a target, and OddsMaker.
Also asked about: Danelfin rates stocks with an AI Score, the probability of beating the market over the next 3 months, which suits longer holds rather than intraday signals. StockHero sells no-code automated trading strategies for stocks, CFDs, forex and crypto through supported brokers; on Trade Ideas, Money Machine automates strategies built from your own scans.
Alternatives for catalysts and options activity
Benzinga Pro
Fast news, audio squawk and chat. The Real-Time Scanner is on the Essential plan at $197/mo; Basic is $37/mo. Full comparison →

Trade Ideas vs ChartsWatcher
ChartsWatcher is a browser-based workspace with real-time alerts, toplists, news, charts, watchlists and a broker connection, with a free plan. Its site says you combine alert types with price, volume, float and technical filters, and follow several strategies in one alert window. Its backtest is a replay of past sessions: the first 30 entries on Free, the last trading day on Starter, three days on Advanced and 30 trading days on Pro. We did not find an AI signal feature on its home page (checked Oct 5, 2026).
- Live results: both stream alerts. Trade Ideas adds the Top List, ranking who qualifies right now, and Multi-Strategy Windows on TI Premium.
- Replay vs test: a replay shows what a scan would have caught. OddsMaker tests the strategy with your entry and exit rules on about 64 days of one-minute bars and reports win rate, profit factor, the equity curve and drawdown. A replay asks what showed up; OddsMaker asks whether it paid.
- Custom rules: the Formula Editor scripts filters from existing data fields with C-style math, saved to your account.
- AI: Holly AI Signals, plus the Holly AI Assistant, which builds alerts and Top Lists from plain English.
If combining filters and replaying recent matches covers what you need, ChartsWatcher describes exactly that. If you want test results before you trade and an AI already built, that is Trade Ideas.
Research, ratings and momentum apps
- MOMO Pro (Mometic): a real-time momentum stream of breakouts, unusual volume, news and alerts; its Ultra tier adds opening range breakouts and an AI assistant called Aura. Trade Ideas adds OddsMaker testing, Holly and Money Machine.
- Koyfin: a research and portfolio tool for advisors and investors, covering equities, ETFs, mutual funds, forex and bonds. Good for research; it is not an intraday scanner.
- TipRanks: analyst ratings, price targets, Smart Score and insider tracking. Useful for longer-term research; Trade Ideas is for finding setups as they happen.
- Stock Rover: investment research, screening and portfolio management focused on fundamentals. A fit for value, dividend and growth investors.
- VectorVest: a stock-rating and advisory system. Its VST rating scores every stock for value, safety and timing, with a Buy, Sell or Hold call and market timing guidance. Real-time U.S. data is on its $149/mo Premium plan. A fit for longer-term investors. Trade Ideas has its own stock rating, SCoRE, a 30 to 100 rating that updates live and works as a filter in Streaming Alerts and Top Lists. Full comparison →
Holly AI Signals are not only for same-day trades, either: you decide whether to exit the same day or hold. Want scanners only? See the best stock scanners for day trading.
The range of the scanner comes from combinations. Our help documents 310 alerts and 249 filters; any alert works with any set of filters, every filter has a min and max, and 191 alerts add an alert-specific setting, such as the minimum dollar move on Running Up Now. Opening range breakouts and breakdowns come at 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 30 and 60 minutes (5-minute breakout, 5-minute breakdown) on both Trade Ideas plans. Even one alert with two filters gives 9,571,560 pairings; with values set, the scans become effectively unlimited.

ChartsWatcher is a browser-based scanner with alerts, toplists, news and charts, a free plan, and a backtest that replays recent sessions: the first 30 entries on Free, up to the last 30 trading days on Pro. Trade Ideas adds OddsMaker strategy testing with win rate and profit factor, Holly AI Signals and Money Machine.
Past results, including backtests, don't guarantee future results.
