One Question, Asked Live, Recorded Uncut
Which stock is up the most over the last 60 minutes? We asked ChatGPT and the Trade Ideas AI Assistant during market hours, side by side, one take. ChatGPT said it couldn't verify that and suggested running “a Trade Ideas-style scan.” The AI Assistant built that scan and had a live, ranked list running in about 8 seconds.

We covered one thing in the video: the ChatGPT sidebar, which lists past chats. Nothing in either answer was changed.
ChatGPT searched the web for a few seconds, then answered honestly: it could list today's biggest gainers but couldn't reliably verify the top gainer over the rolling last 60 minutes. That is a different question, and it said so.
It showed four of today's gainers from a market-movers web page, with a note that the snapshot was delayed 15 minutes and was not a rolling-hour ranking. Then it described the scan it would want to run, in its own words: “What I'd really want to run is a Trade Ideas-style scan.” All US stocks, sorted by percent change over the last 60 minutes, with a price and volume floor.
Right after the recording, in the same chat, we asked one more question. Yes, it's a leading question, and we're showing it as asked. ChatGPT answered: “For this particular question? Yes. Trade Ideas is exactly the kind of tool I'd use.” It pointed to Trade Ideas' real-time, market-wide scanning, listed the same 60-minute ranking the AI Assistant had already built, and suggested Stock Race to watch the leaders as they develop.
The AI Assistant read the question as a scan and built one: a Top Gainers – 60 Minute Top List that ranks every US stock by its percent change over the last 60 minutes, biggest gain on top, with a $1 price floor and a 500,000-share average daily volume floor so the names are tradable. About 8 seconds after the question was sent, the list was open and live.
At 10:43 AM Pacific its top three were RUBI, up 17.3% in the last 60 minutes, FGL, up 12.3%, and NRXP, up 5.8%. Over the next half minute the rows kept moving as prices changed. No refresh, no second question.
The answer isn't a sentence that goes stale. It's a window that keeps answering. Ask again in an hour and you won't need to: the list is still running.

“The last 60 minutes” can only be answered from live prices on every stock, measured right now. A general chatbot doesn't have that. It searches the web and reads what someone else published, which may be delayed and covers only part of the market. ChatGPT told us exactly that.
Trade Ideas is built the other way around. It watches every US stock on its own live data, and the AI Assistant's job is to turn your words into a Top List (screener) or a Streaming Alerts (scanner) window on that data. Top Lists re-check which stocks qualify every 15 seconds, while the rankings, sort order and data on the list update in real time.

Not reliably. In our recorded test on October 30, 2026, ChatGPT (free plan) said it couldn't verify the top gainer over the last 60 minutes and listed today's gainers from a web page delayed 15 minutes.
Yes. Asked which stock is up the most over the last 60 minutes, it built a live Top List that ranks every US stock by its 60-minute gain and opened it in about 8 seconds. The list keeps re-ranking as prices move.
Asked “So I should use Trade Ideas?” right after the test, ChatGPT answered that for this question, yes, Trade Ideas is exactly the kind of tool it would use, because of its real-time, market-wide scanning.
For finding and ranking stocks live, yes, because Trade Ideas runs on its own live market data. For learning, explaining ideas and planning, ChatGPT is a good tool. Many traders use both.
In our test it didn't use a live feed. It searched the web and quoted a market-movers page that said its snapshot was delayed 15 minutes and was not a rolling-hour ranking.

No. It is one take with no cuts. The only change is that the ChatGPT sidebar, which lists past chats, is covered. The follow-up question is a separate screenshot from the same chat, taken right after.
Recorded by Daniel Mirkin on Friday, October 30, 2026, starting at about 10:42 AM Pacific, with both apps on one screen. ChatGPT was signed in on the free plan in a new chat. The Trade Ideas AI Assistant ran in TI Pro. The 60-minute gains quoted above are read from the Top List in the recording. Results on another day, another question or another ChatGPT plan may differ; we'll re-run the test and date it.
