This Trade Great: CRVO and the Power of the Halfway
This Trade Great: CRVO and the Power of the Halfway
Jun 18, 2026
Hey everyone, Barrie Einarson here from Trade Ideas with today’s edition of What Makes This Trade Great.
Now, full disclosure — there was another trade flagged by our AI today with an even bigger percentage move. But I want to skip past that one and focus on CRVO, because this is the trade that really tells a story. To Subscribe to Trade Ideas: https://go.trade-ideas.com/SHQ

The Setup
We actually knew about CRVO before the bell. It came up in our pre-market chat — there was news out that the company had received some kind of patent protection from the FDA on a dementia and Alzheimer’s drug. That’s the kind of headline that gets a stock moving, and sure enough, it did.
I had it on my radar going into the open because it showed up on my trend reversal scan, and honestly, it worked out fantastically.
What the AI Saw
Here’s where it gets interesting. Our AI fired off an alert right at 6.67. You can see it clearly on the chart — that’s the moment the algorithm flagged the move.
From there, the stock kept climbing before it pulled back, running all the way up to 7.37. That’s a strong move off that initial alert — a genuinely good trade if you caught it there.
Then the Pullback
But trading rarely goes in a straight line, and CRVO reminded us of that. After topping out, it rolled over hard — hit the stop, and actually traded below the stop level before finding its footing.
And then it did something a lot of stocks do after a sharp shakeout: it came back. Specifically, it came back about halfway.
The Halfway Play
This is the part I really want you to take away from today’s example. That halfway retracement isn’t just a curiosity — it’s a recognizable pattern, and it’s one we talk about a lot here.
If you were watching for it, you could have gotten into this trade at 6.58, right before the stock pulled back again and pushed up to 7.81. That’s a second bite at the apple, on the same stock, using the same underlying idea — let the stock shake out, then look for it to reclaim half of what it gave back.
The Takeaway
CRVO today is a great reminder that a single stock can hand you more than one opportunity in the same session. The AI alert got you in early. The stop got you out when momentum failed. And the halfway retracement gave disciplined traders a second, lower-risk entry back into the same move.
That’s what makes this trade great.
