This morning, GDC caught my eye at $2.51, thanks to our reliable AI. But what really stood out to me was how this trade unfolded. If you look at the five-minute chart, you’ll see the blue arrow marking where the alert happened. Initially, it popped to $2.64—nothing too crazy, right? But then, it pulled back, even dipping down to $2.30. At this point, some traders might have felt disappointed or even panicked. But this is where experience and strategy come into play.
In the trading room, I mentioned to keep an eye on that $2.51 level. Sure enough, GDC fought its way back to that price and broke through it again. What happened next was the real magic. After reclaiming $2.51, the stock surged to $2.88. A smart trader could have taken some profit there, but if you held on, you witnessed a massive lift all the way to nearly $4—$3.96 to be exact, right before it got halted. When it resumed, it popped again, showing the power of momentum in action.
Now, even after all that action, GDC is still up 10% from the original alert as I write this. I’m keeping my eye on it to see if it can push through $3 later today with some volume behind it.
Here’s the takeaway: Don’t panic if you think you missed the move the first time. If a stock pulls back below the alert price, set a price alert at that level and wait. If it breaks through again, you’re in a prime position to catch the next wave. In the case of GDC, waiting paid off big time.
