Flipping the Script: How $REAL Turned From a Short Into a Long Opportunity

One of the things I always stress to traders is that you cannot become emotionally attached to a bias. Today’s action in $REAL was a perfect example of why adaptability is such an important part of trading. To Subscribe to Trade Ideas: https://go.trade-ideas.com/SHQ

Earlier in the session, our Trade Ideas AI identified $REAL as a short opportunity around 10:49. Initially, the setup worked beautifully as the stock sold off aggressively, reaching as low as $9.28. For traders following the AI signal, there was tremendous opportunity on the short side.

But here’s where experience and flexibility come into play.

Just because the AI identifies a stock as a short does not mean the trade thesis cannot change. Markets are dynamic, and traders need to react to price action rather than become locked into a single idea. As $REAL began to stabilize and reclaim VWAP near the $10 area, the character of the trade shifted dramatically.

Once the stock pushed through VWAP, aggressive traders had the opportunity to flip their bias and participate in the long side of the move as the stock rallied toward $10.38.

This is why I constantly talk about VWAP as an important decision-making tool. VWAP can help traders identify weakness below the line and strength above it. When price reclaims VWAP with momentum, it often signals a potential shift in market control.

The key takeaway from today’s trade is simple:
The AI provides the opportunity, but traders still need to interpret the evolving price action and remain adaptable.

Trading is not about being stubborn. It’s about recognizing when conditions change and positioning yourself accordingly.
