Today’s trade is a great reminder that some of the best opportunities don’t come from flashy breakouts—but from understanding context and working together as a trading community.
In the pre-market, we often see biotech stocks that have been absolutely crushed on news. Many times, that kind of move signals the end of the road—especially when a company only has one drug in development. If that trial fails, there’s often nothing left to support the stock.
This morning, one of those names was Instil Bio ($TIL).
The stock was down sharply after news that a trial had been discontinued. Naturally, the first question was why—and just as importantly—what else does the company have going on?
This is where the Trade Ideas trading room really shows its value.
One of our longtime room members, William, specializes in quickly analyzing biotech financials. Every morning, I’ll ask him to take a look at these beaten-down bio names to see if there’s still something under the hood—cash on hand, additional pipeline assets, or conditions that could support a short-term bounce.
When William reviewed $TIL, he pointed out that the company still had cash on hand and wasn’t a one-and-done story. His conclusion? This stock had the potential for a technical bounce.
Many traders in the room agreed and took the trade.
William even mentioned that a move back toward $7 was possible.
And that’s exactly what happened.
👉 $TIL rallied right up to $7.
That’s what made this trade great.
But more importantly, it highlights something I say often:
The Trade Ideas room isn’t just about me.
It’s about collaboration. It’s about traders sharing ideas, challenging assumptions, and spotting opportunities together in real time. Trades like this come from asking the right questions and leveraging the collective experience in the room.
Great work by William, and great trading by everyone involved.
