Improvements to Config Window

We‘ve recently made a lot of changes to the configuration window. It’s one of the most important windows, so we’re constantly trying to make it better. Let’s say we’re looking for a position in the 30 minute range (I said 30 Day – it’s 30 minute), depending on how long this filter list is it can be hard to find. So let’s use search to look for the 30 minute position in range and click on Find to show it to me, to show me the filter. It was already here, but I might not have noticed it. Now the window shows me the location and highlights it in bold. So now things are easier to find using the Search tab. Another change only has to do with the Alert Window. So let me bring up an alert window. I’m going to say Start From Scratch so I have no alerts and no filters yet. A common mistake for some people is they forget to select an alert. But, since this is an alert window you need some alerts. Let’s say I just fill in some filters and forget to set an alert… Sure enough now it is warning me about my mistake. If you didn’t want an alert, then you probably wanted a Top List window. In older versions we would just select the heartbeat for something similar to a top list. So this new warning lets you know about your mistake. And if you have any questions, just ask us. That’s what we’re here for. And down here in the config window. This part has changed a little bit. It used to have choices like “show most common” or “show all”. We’ve changed that. You now have three choices, Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced. This is because different people need different things. You may also notice we got rid of the “Show All” button to minimize any confusion. If you want to browse all the choices, you can still scroll through the search panel. And finally, let’s take a look at updates to the Summary panel. It used to show you what changed. Now it shows a summary of what settings you are currently using.

Open New Window

We recently made some changes to how new windows open. Instead of taking you to a default window, we open the Config Window, where you have a lot of choices. It doesn’t always behave that way. Sometimes it tries to be smart. Let’s say I accidentally closed this window. Well I got that strategy in chat on Skype. It could be from anywhere, it’s the fact that I copied this is all that matters. When a new window is opened the software checks the clipboard for a collaborate link and opens the strategy in the link.

Borders

We’ve added a new new feature to the windows in Trade Ideas. From the right click menu, you can select Small Borders. This makes the border surrounding the window smaller than the default windows view. See how narrow you can make them with Small Borders? You can’t do that with the regular borders. This helps some people make their layouts fit their desktop space more efficiently. And, it saves the small border setting with your layouts.
