Here is a preview of new features coming soon to the Trade-Ideas Oddsmaker Backtesting tool. To view the new features, let’s run the oddsmaker on this strategy. It’s a short selling strategy, so we’ll simulate a sell using some simple settings. As you can see, the Summary Tab and Equity Curve chart are new. The Summary Tab includes this Equity curve chart and a summary of the Profit Factor, Total trades made, and number of winning and losing trades. The detailed results tab may be familiar to you already. It shows the win rate, net gain, daily summary. And of course you can save your results to a spreadsheet or copy the summary to paste into another program. The next tab is the new Price tab. In the Price tab you can view the trade performance by price interval group. And we can view this data graphically by Profit Factor, Win Percentage, Total Gains, and Number of Trades. The price interval and minimum number of trades can be customized. The Time of Day tab breaks down the trades made in the backtest according to the time in the trading day in which the trades occur. As you know, some strategies perform better early in the day, some later in the day. A quick look at this shows the strategy may perform best in the middle of the day and towards the end of the day. And we can drill down into this by looking at groups that have a certain number or trades and change the minute interval. And we can view the results graphically by Profit Factor, Win Percentage, Total Gains, and Number of Trades. The symbol tab allows us to see the performance of the top symbols traded during the backtest. We can change the grouping by number of top symbols and number of trades. As with the other tabs, we can view the chart of the symbol performance by Profit Factor, Win Percentage, Total Gains, and Number of Trades. These new features coming to the OddsMaker provide a dashboard view of the strategy performance helping you to further refine your strategy.
