Automated Trading using Trade-Ideas via TDA

Good Morning Traders. Today is Jan 30th the last trading day of the first month of the year. This trading month was more challenging than December. We're doing a lot of development which made it hard to focus on just trading. In today’s video you can see we are modifying the way we look at the data. We also pressed the record button about half a minute too late and were already in the positions right at the open. What you will see is how everything panned out. We were immediately in 3 long positions and 5 short positions. We were immediately stopped out of one position and left with 3 longs and 4 shorts. Then another short position in UEPS was stopped out leaving us with 3 longs and 3 shorts./ One of the biggest adjustments that was made today versus how we have been previously running the strategies most of January is that we turned the strategies into conservative mode. The market has been extremely volatile lately. While that is good in terms of having the ability to profit from swings, the downside can happen when the volatility contributes to random swings in either direction. Traders using the bot at different firms gave us feedback that it was better to dial down the aggressiveness and try not to get into too many trades. We did that by changing our trade instructions on the 3 long and short strategies. Instead of placing orders at the inside market or in between like we had been doing previously, we placed our limit orders slightly below or above the inside market depending on if we were placing orders to buy or short sell. The results speak for themselves. During this recording we modified the viewing area to show more of our P/L graphs that were just recently added to give a better visual representation of what was happening in the trades. Since we did not have as many positions as we usually have we wanted to give you a different view of the data and also showcase how easily you can change the viewing area. We expanded the robot console window so that you can see all the options that are available. Obviously, we know that it is not often where all of your open positions are winners but it sure does feel nice. We ended up the day 147.65 or just about 3 points overall on 8 round trips. We appreciate all of your feedback and will continue to post more videos as we focus on bringing the robot to market.
