Depending on which alerts you look at, the description column can be very important. Sometimes it's a duplicate of the quality column. The exact message in here depends on the type of the alert. Because a description can be very long, there are other ways to view it other than just this column. You can click anywhere on the alert and the description will show up here at the bottom. To make this area larger — to see more — use the scroll bar. Click on another alert to see more information about that alert. If you don't need this field, just make it very small. If you want it again later, go to the bottom and stretch it out again. There is another way to see a long form in the description. If you display the alert sideways, you can stretch this column to make it taller than the others. This is especially useful when you have only alerts of one type in a window. Otherwise you will see some empty space. You can still use this field at the bottom even in the left-to-right mode.
