This lesson shows how to use Trade-Ideas with Medved QuoteTracker. These products can be linked, so that when you click on a symbol, that symbol is loaded into Medved QuoteTracker. There are several ways to do this. In this example, we are sending symbols from Trade-Ideas to the linked windows in QuoteTracker. You can see the link in here. There are more options. Go to our home page to see these options. You may add some features. Make sure you are logged in. Select link destinations. Go down to QuoteTracker. Here you can see we are using the first setting right now. You can also send symbols to the QuoteTracker Portfolio. Click on the setting that you want. Accept changes. Now get rid of this window and go back to our work. Click on a symbol. That symbol is added to the portfolio, so you can track it. Click on another and it is added. There is also a third way to attach to Quote Tracker. Go back to link destination. You can see that Quote Tracker also works with Generic Option #2. This is described in a different lesson. Generic Option #2 is useful for attaching Trade Ideas to multiple programs at the same time. You notice that there is some one time set up that is sometimes required for Quote Tracker. Let's take a look at that. Options. Edit preferences, misc., HTTP server settings. Initially these are off. You want to set them to on. You want to keep the port to the default value. Hit OK. You only need to do that once. It saves that setting. If you don't do that, you will see a window that looks like this. This means that you did not do the one time set up to QuoteTracker. Change the preferences. Turn on the HTTP server and try it again. Sometimes you may see a window that looks like this. The best thing to do is ignore it. Either make another window move in front of it or minimize it. Now you can use Trade-Ideas together with Medved Quote Tracker to find all the best trading opportunities. Use Trade-Ideas to find interesting symbols. Click on that symbol. Then use Medved Quote Tracker to learn more about that symbol.
