This lesson shows how to use Trade-Ideas with Medved QuoteTracker.  Trade-Ideas is completely embedded within QuoteTracker.  To start using Trade-Ideas go to QuteTracker's "Alerts" menu, then select "Open Trade-Ideas Alerts".  If you have used Trade-Ideas inside QuoteTrader before, you will see a list of your old windows.  Otherwise, you will have to start by creating a new window.

Here you see the Trade-Ideas alert window.  We have an alert for Google (GOOG).  Now look at the portfolio in QuoteTracker.  See the exclamation point next to Google?  This is one of the ways that Trade-Ideas and QuoteTracker can work together.  You can configure Trade-Ideas and QuoteTracker to send information to one another.

Right click on the alert window to see a list of options. These options in the middle are the same as in Trade-Ideas Pro.  The options at the top allow you to perform specific actions based on which symbol you clicked on.  And there are more options at the bottom. 

This is where I told QuoteTracker to highlight the symbols in my alert window.  Instead of an exclamation point I could have used a color to highlight the symbol.  This is especially useful when you have multiple alert windows, because each one can use a different color.

Trade-Ideas requires a username and a password.  You can use the same account for this version of Trade-Ideas as for Trade-Ideas Pro and the web based version of Trade-Ideas.  In fact, you can switch between these any time you like.  When you log into another product, we will suspend the alerts in QuoteTracker.  To resume the alerts, double-click on the red status light.

If you don't have a Trade-Ideas account, you can always log in with "DEMO" for the username and anything for the password.  This will give you limited samples of our data.  Or sign up for our free trial today, to access all of the features of our product.

If you are familiar with Trade-Ideas Pro, you know about our linking feature.  This feature does not work with QuoteTracker.  But you don't need this.  The embedded version of Trade-Ideas offers the same functionality, and is integrated very tightly with QuoteTracker. Kudos to Medved for doing such a good job.

If you are familiar with our web-based product, you know that it also has a linking feature.  This can be linked to QuoteTracker. This is described in more detail in the following lesson.  This works, but we recommend that you use the embedded version of Trade-Ideas instead.  As I said, Medved did a great job embedding our software into theirs.
